SkyPlanner APS for Oracle Fusion Cloud: Finite Capacity Production Scheduling
SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on for Oracle Fusion Cloud that schedules every machine, operator, tool and material across your plants. You see which work order operation runs on which resource and when, and Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes.
SkyPlanner integrates with Oracle Fusion Cloud in both directions: work orders with their operations, work definitions, work centers, production resources, items, item structures, on-hand balances and purchase orders flow in. Planned operation start and completion dates go back to the work orders, and logged work posts as operation and resource transactions. The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your Oracle Fusion Cloud setup during onboarding.
Pricing is from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, and each extra workstation is 20 € per month. The free trial runs for 30 days with up to 20 workstations and no credit card.
What changes in your production
A finite sequence on every resource.
Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing dates each work order on its own. SkyPlanner places every operation on a specific machine or person at a specific time, against real shifts, absences and the load from every other work order.
Several plants in one plan.
Each plant becomes a workstation group, and transfer times between plants are part of the schedule. SkyPlanner shows which plant’s workstations should run the work, so planners see the whole network, not one organization at a time.
Changeovers cost less.
SkyPlanner holds the changeover time between each pair of products, in both directions. Blue to red can take 30 minutes while red to blue takes 60. The engine runs jobs in the order that loses the least time.
People and tools are finite too.
A job that needs three operators gets three people with free shifts. A die or mold in use on one machine is never booked on another. When a resource is busy, work moves to an alternative machine or person.
Material decides the start.
SkyPlanner checks on-hand stock and incoming purchase orders for every item. A work order waiting for a supplier delivery is planned after that delivery date, not started and then stopped on the floor.
Operators see their queue.
Each operator sees the next jobs on a phone or tablet and logs work as it happens. The office sees progress live, and completions flow back to Oracle Fusion Cloud.

How the Oracle Fusion Cloud integration works
- Oracle Fusion Cloud sends the work. Work orders and their operations, work definitions, work centers, production resources, calendars and shifts, items, item structures, on-hand balances and purchase orders flow into SkyPlanner.
- SkyPlanner builds the schedule and keeps it current. The Arcturus engine optimizes the whole plan in seconds and replans as production changes.
- Dates and logged work go back. Planned start and completion dates return to each work order operation through the
workOrdersresource. Operator confirmations post as operation transactions and resource transactions.
Oracle Fusion Cloud stays your system of record. Items, work definitions, Supply Planning, costing, inventory and finance stay where they are. SkyPlanner owns one thing: the sequence and timing of every operation on every resource.
SkyPlanner reads Oracle Fusion Cloud through the REST API for Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM: workOrders, workDefinitions, workCenters, productionResources, itemsV2, itemStructures and inventoryOnhandBalances. It writes back with a PATCH on the work order and its WorkOrderOperation child, which carries PlannedStartDate and PlannedCompletionDate, and posts progress to operationTransactions and resourceTransactions. SkyPlanner webhooks push every schedule change as it happens.
Every plant runs Oracle Fusion Cloud differently, so the SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your setup during onboarding and supports it after go-live. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs. Your Oracle partner or your own developers can also build on SkyPlanner’s documented API (API reference).
Resources, data mapping and write-back rules are in the Oracle Fusion Cloud integration guide for production scheduling.
What Oracle Fusion Cloud schedules, and what SkyPlanner adds
Oracle Fusion Cloud Manufacturing dates every work order, and Oracle offers finite scheduling in a separate work area. Oracle’s own documentation describes the layers:
- Work order scheduling is unconstrained. “Oracle Manufacturing uses unconstrained scheduling engine in the background to schedule work orders during create and certain update actions.”
- Other work orders are ignored. While it schedules a work order, “resources are assumed to have infinite capacity and the scheduling engine disregards loads on the resources from other work orders.”
- Work orders can overlap on one resource. The manufacturing application “assumes that your resources have unlimited capacity; it then potentially plans to execute production for multiple work orders simultaneously.” (source)
- Supply Planning works in buckets. A constrained supply plan moves orders “to earlier time buckets,” and “as a last resort, overloads resource and supplier capacity to meet demands on time.” (source)
Finite sequencing comes from Oracle Production Scheduling, a work area enabled under the Supply Chain Planning offering, not Fusion Manufacturing (Oracle setup). A planner builds one schedule per scheduling organization and runs it through Refresh, Solve, Repair and Release.

Oracle Fusion Cloud scheduling software and add-ons compared
| Option | What it is | Fits when |
|---|---|---|
| Oracle Production Scheduling and Supply Planning | Oracle’s planning work areas in the Supply Chain Planning offering | You already run Supply Chain Planning and a central planning team owns each scheduling organization |
| MES and frontline apps connected to Fusion (for example Accevo, Tulip) | Shop-floor execution and data capture apps that read and post Fusion work order data | The project is about execution and data capture on the floor |
| Standalone APS and planning tools (for example PlanetTogether, b2wise) | Planning software connected to Oracle through an integration project | A planning team will run a separate optimization model |
| Cloud APS connected by REST (SkyPlanner APS) | A finite scheduler in the browser that syncs with Fusion work orders in both directions | The schedule should keep itself current, cover every plant and reach every operator |
Choose SkyPlanner over Oracle Production Scheduling when:
- You run Fusion Manufacturing without Supply Chain Planning. Oracle enables Production Scheduling under “Offering: Supply Chain Planning”. SkyPlanner schedules your Fusion work orders finitely beside the Manufacturing you already run.
- Several plants share the work. Production Scheduling builds a schedule per scheduling organization. SkyPlanner plans every plant in one schedule and shows which plant should run the work.
- Changeovers happen on more than single machines. Oracle applies changeover rules “only on resources that have resource type set to equipment and default units available set to 1” (source). SkyPlanner’s setting time matrix holds directional changeover times on every workstation.
- The plan must keep itself current. Oracle warns that “if the schedule isn’t refreshed after the previous release, changes to the schedule for some work orders might not be released” (source). Autopilot replans on every meaningful change, and the new dates go back to the work orders.
- Every operator should work from the plan. Mobile Confirmations put the live queue on a phone or tablet, and users are unlimited: the price depends on workstations, not seats.
- You want a live schedule in weeks. You test SkyPlanner on your own Fusion work orders in the 30-day trial, and implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts.
Running Oracle NetSuite instead? NetSuite is Oracle’s ERP for growing companies, while Oracle Fusion Cloud serves large, multi-plant manufacturers. See SkyPlanner for NetSuite.

FAQ
What is the best scheduling add-on for Oracle Fusion Cloud?
SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on that integrates with Oracle Fusion Cloud in both directions: work orders, work definitions, work centers, production resources, items and purchase orders flow in, and planned operation dates and logged work flow back. Every machine, operator, tool and material is finite, and a directional setting time matrix sequences jobs for the least setup. Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes. Pricing is from 199 € per month, and the free trial runs for 30 days.
Does Oracle Fusion Cloud have finite capacity scheduling?
Not in Fusion Manufacturing itself. Oracle states that its work order scheduling engine is unconstrained and assumes infinite capacity. Finite scheduling sits in Oracle Production Scheduling, a work area of the Supply Chain Planning offering. SkyPlanner APS schedules every machine, person, tool and material finitely beside Fusion Manufacturing.
What scheduling software integrates with Oracle Fusion Cloud?
SkyPlanner APS integrates with Oracle Fusion Cloud in both directions through the REST API for Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM. It reads workOrders, workDefinitions, workCenters, productionResources, itemsV2 and on-hand balances, writes PlannedStartDate and PlannedCompletionDate to each WorkOrderOperation, and posts confirmations to operationTransactions and resourceTransactions.
Should we use Oracle Production Scheduling or SkyPlanner?
SkyPlanner, when you want one finite schedule for every plant that keeps itself current. Oracle Production Scheduling sits in the Supply Chain Planning offering, solves one scheduling organization at a time, applies changeover rules only to single-unit equipment, and releases dates only inside the release horizon. SkyPlanner replans automatically, plans changeovers, tools, crews and material on every workstation, and gives every operator their queue on a phone with unlimited users.
Does SkyPlanner replace Oracle Supply Planning or Fusion Manufacturing?
No, it works on top of them. Oracle keeps items, work definitions, Supply Planning, inventory, costing and finance. SkyPlanner schedules your work orders against real capacity and sends the operation dates back.
How much does SkyPlanner cost for an Oracle Fusion Cloud plant?
From 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, plus 20 € per month per extra workstation. A workstation is a production resource with its own scheduled work queue. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start.
How long does implementation take?
Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts, even for large companies. The team maps your work centers, production resources and work definitions, connects work orders and purchase orders, and sends planned dates back. Everything is tested against your current plan before go-live.
Can we test SkyPlanner before integrating with Oracle Fusion Cloud?
Yes. The 30-day trial runs on an Excel export of your open Oracle work orders. You see a finite capacity schedule of your own production before any integration work starts.
