Production scheduling for building product manufacturers
Building products production scheduling software
SkyPlanner APS turns your project orders, casting beds, molds, cutting lines, materials and shifts into one finite-capacity schedule. It plans every element, window and wall panel to the day the construction site needs it, keeps every casting bed booked through its curing time, never books one mold for two jobs at once and rebuilds the plan in seconds when a site moves its date or a delivery of glass, steel or timber is late. It integrates with any ERP or MES through its open REST API.

Why building products are hard to schedule
Made to order, delivered in the order the site builds
A precast element, a window or a wall panel is usually made for one building. It has to be produced in the sequence the site will install it, on beds, molds and lines that are shared by every other project in the plant.
The site sets the sequence
Ground floor before first floor, east facade before west. Each project item has its own delivery date, and an element that arrives early takes up yard space while one that arrives late stops a crane crew.
Beds and molds are taken while concrete cures
A casting bed or mold holds the element until it is strong enough to lift. Curing and drying time decides how many cycles a bed runs per day and when the next pour can start.
Cutting decides the batches
Glass, profiles, timber and stone are cut in optimized runs that mix pieces from several orders. The cutting batch then drives everything downstream, from insulating glass to frame assembly.
Every item is a variant
Sizes, openings, glazing, colors, reinforcement and fittings differ for nearly every piece. Two windows in the same building can need different profiles, glass and hardware.
Materials arrive on project dates
Rebar cages, insulation, embeds, glass units and fittings must be on hand before the job that uses them starts, and one late delivery can hold a whole floor of elements.
A spreadsheet cannot follow the site
When the site moves a date, a spreadsheet or ERP plan loaded to infinite capacity shows nothing about which beds, lines and other projects are affected, so the planner rebuilds the week by hand.
SkyPlanner plans the plant around the construction schedule. Every element, window and panel gets its own due date, beds stay booked through curing, no mold is double booked, cutting runs are planned as batches and a moved site date is replanned across all projects in seconds.
Project, mold and curing aware scheduling
Cast, cut and assembled in the order the site installs it.
In building products the delivery sequence is set outside the factory. SkyPlanner turns each project into a schedule that respects the site order, the molds and beds you own and the time each piece spends curing or drying.
Due dates per item and per step
Each element, window or panel carries its own due date, and process steps can have their own due dates too. Plan backward from the site delivery date or forward from today, and set priorities by project and customer.
Molds and beds as limited resources
Register molds, forms and shuttering as tools and link them to the products that need them. A shared tool or mold cannot be in two places at once, so two projects never get the same mold at the same time.
Curing and drying in the plan
A fixed-duration step keeps the bed occupied for its curing cycle, and a waiting time after a step, such as drying, holds the next step until it is over. The next pour and the next assembly start when the material is really ready.
How SkyPlanner schedules a building products plant
Casting halls, cutting lines and assembly on one schedule
SkyPlanner schedules to the beds, lines, molds and people you really have, and puts the same plan in front of every crew on the floor.
Finite capacity across beds, cutting lines, assembly tables and people
Each casting bed, saw, cutting table, press and assembly station has its own shift calendar, and planned maintenance, holidays and breakdowns can be entered as exceptions. Personnel scheduling assigns people to shifts and workstations, so the plan never books a pour, a cutting run or a wall panel on a station that has nobody to work it.
- No job lands on an unstaffed, blocked or occupied bed or line
- Several plants scheduled together, with transfer times between sites
Cutting batches, variants and multi-level structures
Panes, profiles, timber and slabs from several orders that run together are scheduled as one batch job, and products tagged with properties such as material, thickness or color run in succession with a changeover matrix by product properties. Multi-level bills of materials and sub-products carry each cut piece on to insulating glass, frame assembly or wall panels, and material-based scheduling starts a job only when its materials will be there.
- Minimum degree of completion lets assembly start before the whole cutting batch is done
- Material need dates for glass, rebar, timber and fittings flow back to your ERP
Every crew from casting to dispatch sees the same plan
Casters, cutters, assemblers and loaders see their own work queue in a simple worker view or the SkyPlanner shop-floor app. They start, pause and complete jobs and report quantities as they go, so the schedule always shows which elements and items are really finished and ready for the truck.
Site delays, late glass, new projects won
The site moves its date. The plant plan follows in seconds.
When a construction site moves a delivery, a mold needs repair or a glass shipment is late, the Arcturus AI engine rebuilds the schedule in seconds. Lock elements that must not move, raise the priority of one project or fast-track an urgent floor.
- Add a tendered project as a sales prospect scheduled as a simulated order and see the earliest realistic delivery date, without disturbing confirmed projects.
- See what pulling one building forward does to every other site already promised a date.
- Quote delivery dates from real bed, mold and line capacity.
SkyPlanner has brought visibility to identifying bottlenecks and clarified production management. Identifying problems early has significantly improved our internal delivery reliability as well. SkyPlanner’s role in production management is significant.

Why SkyPlanner for building products
Why building product manufacturers schedule with SkyPlanner
SkyPlanner APS is AI production scheduling software for building product manufacturers that make to project and deliver to construction sites on a promised date. It plans precast, window, prefab and wood product plants of every size to real capacity, molds and curing times, without replacing their ERP.
Planned to the site sequence
Every element, window and panel gets its own due date and priority, so production follows the order the construction site installs it.
Molds and beds never double booked
Tools management keeps each mold and form in one place at a time, and curing runs as a fixed-duration step on the bed or as a waiting time after the step.
Cutting runs as batch jobs
Pieces from several orders that are cut together are scheduled as one job, and similar materials and thicknesses run in succession to cut changeovers.
Site changes replanned in seconds
When a site moves a date or a material delivery slips, the Arcturus AI engine rebuilds the finite-capacity schedule in seconds.
Delivery dates for every tender
Schedule a tendered project as a simulated order and see its realistic delivery date from real bed and line capacity before you commit.

Questions building product manufacturers ask
Frequently asked questions
What is the best production scheduling software for building products manufacturers?
A building products plant needs scheduling software that plans every item to the delivery date and sequence of the construction site, keeps molds and casting beds booked through curing, and schedules cutting runs as batches across orders. SkyPlanner APS does all three with finite-capacity AI scheduling, and the Arcturus AI engine rebuilds the plan in seconds when a site moves its date. A precast yard or window plant can load one project’s item list into the 30-day free trial, and the open REST API connects the plan to SAP, A+W Business or any other ERP or MES.
Is SkyPlanner a finite-capacity APS for precast, window and wall panel plants?
Yes. SkyPlanner APS is an advanced planning and scheduling system that books every casting bed, saw, cutting table and assembly station only up to the hours it really has on its shift calendar. It turns each project’s list of elements, windows or panels into one sequenced plan from pour or cut to site delivery, and the Arcturus AI engine optimises that sequence against delivery dates, molds and curing.
Can SkyPlanner plan molds, casting beds and curing times?
Yes. Molds and forms are managed as tools linked to the products that need them, so a shared mold is never planned in two places at once. Casting beds are workstations with their own shift calendars, curing runs as a fixed-duration step that keeps the bed occupied, and a waiting time after a step, such as drying, holds the next step until it is over.
Which project and item data moves between SAP or A+W Business and SkyPlanner?
Projects and sales orders, products with variants and bills of materials, materials and purchase orders, and site delivery dates flow in from SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, A+W Business or any other ERP or MES, in-house systems included, through the open REST API. Planned start and end times, material need dates for glass, rebar, timber and fittings, reported progress and quantities, and delivery dates flow back. The connection is built by Skycode or by your own IT team with the public API documentation.
What stays in the ERP when a precast or window plant schedules its production in SkyPlanner?
Project accounting, item master data, purchasing, inventory and costing stay in your ERP. SkyPlanner owns the daily decision of what gets cast, cut and assembled, then returns planned times and material need dates so purchasing calls off rebar, glass and timber for the days each project really needs them.
How quickly can a precast yard or window plant see its first project scheduled?
Today. Open the 30-day free trial with up to 20 workstations and no credit card, register your beds, saws and assembly tables, add your molds as tools, and load the item list of one current project by CSV or by hand to see the casting and assembly sequence before any integration exists. Onboarding workshops then set up curing steps, cutting batches and shift calendars together with your planners.
Does SkyPlanner fit a single casting hall as well as a building products group with plants in several countries?
Yes. A plant with one casting hall or one window line starts from 199 € / month with 5 workstations included and adds beds, lines and stations at 20 € per month each. Groups schedule several plants together with transfer times between sites, and casters, cutters and assembly crews in every country use the interface in their own language, since it runs in 29 languages.
Can SkyPlanner batch glass, profile and timber cutting across projects and still deliver each building on time?
Yes. Panes, profiles, timber and slabs from several orders are scheduled as one batch job, and products tagged by material, thickness or color run in succession with a changeover matrix by product properties. Minimum degree of completion lets insulating glass, frame or wall panel assembly start before the whole cutting batch is finished, while every piece keeps its own due date toward the site delivery.
