Eskomatic Oy has manufactured demanding metal components in Turku since 1976. Roughly 70 production professionals run dozens of modern CNC lathes and machining centres, producing parts for equipment manufacturers in the metal, hydraulics, medical, defence, and electronics industries. With a wide product mix, varying batch sizes, and several industries served at once, daily scheduling becomes demanding quickly.

When the old system reached its limits

Before SkyPlanner, scheduling ran on an older ERP and production control system where work queues were organised largely by hand. Building an overall picture took effort, and because material availability was not visible in real time, delays could occur when a shortage surfaced too close to a job’s planned start.
