SkyPlanner APS for DELMIAWorks (IQMS): Finite Capacity Production Scheduling
SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on for DELMIAWorks, the ERP formerly known as IQMS. It schedules every press, mold, operator and material at real clock times. Arcturus optimizes the whole plan in seconds, and Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes.
SkyPlanner integrates with DELMIAWorks in both directions. Work orders, Bills of Manufacturing with part operations, work centers, tools and molds, inventory items and purchase orders flow in. Planned start and end dates, the assigned work center, production records and task clock labor flow back. The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your DELMIAWorks setup during onboarding.
Pricing is from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, and each extra workstation is 20 € per month. The free trial runs for 30 days with up to 20 workstations, all Basic features and no credit card.
What changes in your production
Every press runs a real sequence.
SkyPlanner places each work order on a specific press, extruder or assembly cell at a specific time. Shifts, absences and overtime set the capacity, so the plan matches what the floor can run.
Mold and color changes cost less.
The setting time matrix holds the changeover time between each pair of products, in both directions. Blue to red may take 30 minutes, while red to blue takes 60 minutes because the barrel needs a full purge. Arcturus runs the order that loses the least time across all presses.
Molds are finite resources.
A mold in a press is never booked on a second press at the same time. A family tool runs its parts as one job. When the first-choice press is busy, work moves to an alternative press that fits the mold.
Crews are planned with the machines.
A job that needs three operators gets three people with free shifts. Mold setters, process technicians and press operators are scheduled from the same plan.
Resin and inserts arrive before the job starts.
SkyPlanner checks stock and incoming purchase orders for every material. A work order waiting on a resin delivery is planned after that delivery date, not loaded and then stopped at the press.
Breakdowns and rush orders replanned automatically.
When a press goes down or a hot order lands, Autopilot reschedules. Running Time Lock freezes the next hours of work, so molds already hung stay in place.
Every operator sees the queue.
Operators see their next jobs on a phone or tablet and log work as it happens. Users are unlimited, so every shift works from the same plan.

How the DELMIAWorks integration works
- DELMIAWorks sends the work. Work orders, Bills of Manufacturing with part operations, work centers, tools and molds, inventory items, stock and purchase orders flow into SkyPlanner.
- SkyPlanner builds the schedule and keeps it current. Arcturus plans every work order on every press in seconds and replans as production changes.
- Dates, presses and logged work go back. Planned start and end dates and the assigned work center return to the work orders in DELMIAWorks. Good parts post as production records, and setup and run time post as task clock labor.
DELMIAWorks stays your system of record. Inventory items, BOMs, MRP, purchasing, quality, RealTime monitoring, costing and accounting stay where they are. SkyPlanner owns one thing: the sequence and timing of every work order on every press, mold and operator.
SkyPlanner reads DELMIAWorks data through the DELMIAWorks WebAPI, which has REST and GraphQL SDKs. It writes back through the WebAPI REST controllers: the Manufacturing WorkOrders controller carries the planned dates and work center of each work order, AddProductionRecords posts good parts, and the Time & Attendance task calls post labor. The exact work order fields are fixed during onboarding scoping. SkyPlanner webhooks push every schedule change as it happens, and the DELMIAWorks sync frequency is set per plant.
Every plant runs DELMIAWorks differently, so the SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your setup during onboarding over the REST API and supports it after go-live. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs. Your DELMIAWorks partner or your own developers can also build on SkyPlanner’s documented API (API reference).
WebAPI controllers, data mapping and write-back rules are in the DELMIAWorks APS integration guide for production scheduling.
What DELMIAWorks schedules, and what SkyPlanner adds
DELMIAWorks has a real finite schedule. Its Advanced Planning and Scheduling module is “a core component” of the ERP, and Dassault’s APS page describes how it works:
- Loading follows rules. Auto Load places “work orders based on priority and “runs the best” machine information.” The rules sit at the Bill of Manufacturing level.
- Material and tools are exceptions. “Exceptions lists” show “materials and tools or other constraints associated with a work order that will be unavailable or need to be expedited.” The planner acts on the list.
- The near term is fenced. “User-defined “time fences” protect the current schedule against repositioning.”
- Capacity checks are rough-cut. “Rough Cut Capacity Tools” compare “work center daily and weekly required hours to available hours.”
In daily work the planner drags work orders between work centers to level the load and reruns Update Schedule and Auto Load after changes. SkyPlanner adds whole-plan optimization: Arcturus sequences every work order across all presses at once, with directional changeovers, finite molds, staffed crews and incoming material solved in the same run. Autopilot then keeps the plan current.

DELMIAWorks today and with SkyPlanner
| DELMIAWorks APS | DELMIAWorks with SkyPlanner APS | |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | Finite schedule per work center; rough-cut checks by day and week | Every press, person and mold finite, with real shifts and clock times |
| Sequence | Auto Load by priority and “runs best” work center | Arcturus optimizes the whole plan in seconds |
| Changeovers | Setup templates and checklists for the next setup | Setting time matrix: blue→red 30 min, red→blue 60 min, least total setup |
| Molds and tools | Tool conflicts shown in exception lists | Molds and tools booked as finite shared resources |
| Crews | Labor capacity compared to the standard | A job that needs three operators gets three people with free shifts |
| Materials | Material exception list for the planner to expedite | Jobs start when stock or incoming purchase orders arrive |
| Near-term plan | Time fences protect the current schedule | Running Time Lock freezes the next hours of work |
| Changes | Update Schedule and Auto Load, then manual moves | Autopilot replans within your priorities and locks |
| Shop floor | Shopworks and RealTime at the press | Operators also see their queue and log work on phone or tablet, unlimited users |
DELMIAWorks scheduling software and add-ons compared
| Option | What it is | Fits when |
|---|---|---|
| DELMIAWorks APS | The finite schedule, Auto Load and capacity tools inside DELMIAWorks | One planner owns the board and changeovers are simple |
| DELMIA Ortems | Dassault’s separate enterprise planning and scheduling product, connected to ERP and MES | A central planning team runs a multi-plant optimization project |
| Priority-based execution tools (for example LillyWorks) | Dispatch lists ranked by order risk instead of a timed schedule | A job shop wants a priority list, not a sequence with clock times |
| Cloud APS connected by API (SkyPlanner APS) | A scheduler in the browser that syncs with DELMIAWorks work orders both ways | The schedule should optimize itself, keep current and reach every operator |
Choose SkyPlanner over DELMIAWorks APS when:
- You want the whole plan optimized. Auto Load follows priority and “runs best” rules. Arcturus optimizes the whole plan in seconds, and Autopilot replans on every meaningful change.
- Mold and color changes decide your output. The setting time matrix holds a different changeover time for each pair of products in each direction and runs the order with the least total setup.
- Molds, crews and resin limit the plan as much as presses. Every press, person, mold and material is finite in one engine. Multi-operator jobs are staffed, and jobs start when the material is there.
- Exception lists take too much of the planner’s day. SkyPlanner plans around unavailable tools and late material instead of listing them for someone to resolve.
- Every operator should work from the plan. Mobile Confirmations put the live queue on a phone or tablet, and users are unlimited: the price depends on workstations, not seats.
- You want one clear price. From 199 € per month, with the two-way integration quoted up front and supported by the SkyPlanner team.

FAQ
What is the best scheduling add-on for DELMIAWorks?
SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on that integrates with DELMIAWorks in both directions. Work orders, BOMs, work centers, molds, inventory items and purchase orders flow in, and planned dates, work centers, production records and labor flow back. Every press, operator, mold and material is finite, and a directional setting time matrix sequences mold and color changes for the least setup. Pricing is from 199 € per month, and the free trial runs for 30 days.
Does DELMIAWorks have finite capacity scheduling?
Yes. DELMIAWorks APS has a finite schedule per work center, with Auto Load by priority and the best-running machine, time fences and exception lists for tools and material. SkyPlanner APS adds whole-plan optimization with every press, mold, crew and material finite at once, plus automatic rescheduling.
What scheduling software integrates with DELMIAWorks?
SkyPlanner APS integrates with DELMIAWorks in both directions through the DELMIAWorks WebAPI. SkyPlanner reads work orders, BOMs, work centers, inventory items and purchase orders through the REST controllers. Planned dates and work centers go back to the work orders through the Manufacturing WorkOrders controller, good parts through AddProductionRecords, and labor through the Time & Attendance task calls.
Should we use DELMIAWorks APS or SkyPlanner?
SkyPlanner, when the schedule should optimize itself and changeovers, molds, crews and material all limit output. DELMIAWorks APS loads work orders by rules and shows tool and material problems as exceptions for the planner. SkyPlanner solves them in one plan, replans automatically and gives every operator their queue on a phone with unlimited users. You prove it on your own DELMIAWorks work orders in the free trial.
Is DELMIAWorks the same as IQMS?
Yes. Dassault Systemes acquired IQMS and renamed its EnterpriseIQ ERP DELMIAWorks. SkyPlanner works with current DELMIAWorks releases through the WebAPI.
Does SkyPlanner replace DELMIAWorks MRP or RealTime?
No, it works on top of them. DELMIAWorks keeps inventory, BOMs, MRP, purchasing, quality and RealTime press monitoring. SkyPlanner schedules your work orders against real capacity and sends the dates back.
How much does SkyPlanner cost for a DELMIAWorks plant?
From 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, plus 20 € per month per extra workstation. A workstation is a production resource with its own scheduled work queue, such as a press. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start.
How long does implementation take?
Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts. The team maps your presses, molds and operations, connects work orders and purchase orders, and sends planned dates back. Everything is tested against your current plan before go-live.
Can we test SkyPlanner before integrating with DELMIAWorks?
Yes. The 30-day trial runs on an Excel export of your open DELMIAWorks work orders. You see a finite capacity schedule of your own presses before any integration work starts.
