Comarch ERP XL Integration Guide for Production Scheduling with SkyPlanner APS

This Comarch ERP XL integration guide shows partners and IT teams how to connect Comarch ERP XL to SkyPlanner APS. SkyPlanner integrates with Comarch ERP XL in both directions, using Comarch’s own interfaces:

  • Production orders (zlecenia produkcyjne) with processes and operations, technologies, work centers, resources, items, stock and purchase orders flow in.
  • Planned start and end times go back to each production order operation through the XL API.
  • Operator timelogs post back as operation realizations, if you choose.
  • SkyPlanner webhooks push schedule changes as they happen.

The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your Comarch ERP XL setup during onboarding and supports it after go-live. This guide is for partners and developers who want to take part, or to build on SkyPlanner’s documented REST API (API reference) themselves.

Comarch ERP XL’s integration interfaces

Comarch lists three ways to communicate with ERP XL: “DCOM, direct database connection (SQL Client), REST API” (Comarch, translated). For a scheduler, two of them carry the work:

  1. XL API (CDN_API.DLL). “These functions are collected in the CDN_API.DLL library, installed together with the whole Comarch ERP XL system.” (Comarch help, translated) An external program logs on with XLLogin, calls functions that share the session, and logs off with XLLogout. Each structure has a Wersja field that selects the parameter-set version for your ERP XL release.
  2. ERP XL Web REST API. Comarch ERP XL Web 2026.0 exposes REST microservices: “Each RestAPI microservice exposes its own interactive documentation at the /swagger endpoint.” (Comarch help, translated)

The direct SQL Client connection gives read access to the ERP XL database for master data and order reads, agreed with your IT team and Comarch partner.

XL API functions for production

Comarch documents these production functions (XL128):

Authentication and access

  • XL API. The integration logs on as an ERP XL operator to a database with XLLogin and receives a session for later calls. The DLL runs on a Windows host with ERP XL installed, so the write-back service runs in your network, next to ERP XL.
  • REST API. Access is set up per ERP XL Web installation; the Swagger page of each microservice documents its calls.
  • SQL read. A read-only database login, approved by your IT team.

On the SkyPlanner side, the REST API authenticates with an API token in the Authorization-Token header (SkyPlanner Settings > API) and is documented in Swagger/OpenAPI. The integration tutorial walks through the first calls.

Events and polling

Comarch ERP XL publishes no outbound webhooks in the documentation checked. Comarch’s own APS pulls data when the planner presses “Aktualizuj dane z ERP” (Comarch APS help).

So the ERP XL side is polled. Reads filtered to open production orders and recent changes pick up new work. The frequency is set per plant, from every few minutes for production orders to hourly for stock.

SkyPlanner sends webhooks when state or the schedule changes, so the write-back side is event-driven.

Integration patterns

1. Initial master data load. Read items, technologies, work centers, resources and calendars. Map work centers to SkyPlanner deliberately: a work center with four machines becomes one workstation group or four workstations. Tools in ERP XL resources become finite tools in SkyPlanner, and employees become personnel with shifts.

2. Order sync. Read production orders with their operations and materials, plus open purchase orders. SkyPlanner treats ordered material as available on the PO delivery date and updates stock when the PO is marked Delivered.

3. Schedule write-back. When the engine places or moves an operation, a SkyPlanner webhook triggers the write-back service. It calls XLDodajTerminDoProcesuProd with the operation’s TerminOd and TerminDo, so each ZP operation carries SkyPlanner’s planned start and end.

4. Shop-floor confirmations. Operators log work with SkyPlanner Mobile Confirmations or the Production Timer, and the timelogs keep the schedule current. You choose whether actual times post back. If yes, the service adds realizations with XLDodajRealizacjeOperacjiProd, and RW and PW documents follow your ERP XL rules. If you run Comarch MES at some stations, keep one reporting source per operation.

5. Ownership and conflict rules. Write them down before go-live:

DataOwner
Items, technologies, quantities, ZP status, costingComarch ERP XL
Operation sequence, start and end times, resource assignmentSkyPlanner
Setting time matrix, tool and operator requirements, alternative resourcesSkyPlanner
Shifts, calendars and downtimeOne system, chosen in scoping
Realizations, RW and PW documentsComarch ERP XL, entered there or posted from SkyPlanner timelogs

Pick one writer of operation dates. If ERP XL automatic replanning or Comarch APS still writes terms onto the same production orders, switch that off for orders SkyPlanner schedules.

Typical project steps

Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts. Before that, validate the schedule in the 30-day free trial with work centers, technologies and open production orders exported from ERP XL as CSV or Excel.

  1. Mapping. Fix the mapping table, ownership rules, sync frequencies and whether realizations post back.
  2. ERP XL access. Create the integration operator, set up the read connection, and place the write-back service on a host with ERP XL installed. Test in a copy database first.
  3. Initial load. Items, technologies, work centers, resources, calendars.
  4. Order and purchase order sync. Polling with filters and retries.
  5. Constraint setup in SkyPlanner. Setting time matrix, tools, operator counts per job and alternative machines or personnel.
  6. Schedule write-back. XLDodajTerminDoProcesuProd calls from SkyPlanner webhooks, plus realizations if chosen.
  7. Parallel testing. Run SkyPlanner beside the current plan, compare dates, fix master data.
  8. Go-live. Switch on write-back once the data matches.

What to plan for in a Comarch ERP XL integration

  • Typed capacity. Work center capacity in ERP XL is a user-defined number with an allowed load %. SkyPlanner takes capacity from real shifts and resources instead, so set shifts carefully and leave the percentage behind.
  • Unlimited resources. Resources flagged with unlimited capacity skip the occupancy check in ERP XL. Decide for each one whether it becomes a finite workstation in SkyPlanner.
  • Released orders. ERP XL leaves operations released to production out of replanning unless “Przesuń na zwolnionych” is ticked. Agree how SkyPlanner dates apply to released orders, and use Running Time Lock to freeze the next hours of work.
  • Struct versions. XL API structures carry a Wersja field. Set it to match your ERP XL release, and re-test after each yearly upgrade.
  • Polish units and times. Operation times and calendar units must convert exactly on import, or every duration is wrong.

Who configures and supports the Comarch ERP XL integration

  1. The SkyPlanner team configures it during onboarding and supports it after go-live, across the agreed reads and XL API calls. Every plant runs Comarch ERP XL differently, and this is where that know-how goes.
  2. Your Comarch partner can take part. The partner knows your setup, licensing and XL API, and can set up the operator, the read connection and the write-back host alongside the SkyPlanner team.
  3. Your own developers can build on it against SkyPlanner’s REST API with an API token. An API token is enough to start, and the SkyPlanner team assists when needed. Integration documentation is at SkyPlanner integration docs.

SkyPlanner starts from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, billed monthly. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan. See pricing, Comarch ERP XL finite capacity scheduling, the Comarch ERP XL page and the ERP integrations hub.

FAQ

Does Comarch ERP XL have an API for production orders?

Yes. The XL API (CDN_API.DLL) creates production orders, plans and replans them with XLZamknijZlecenieProd, adds operation dates with XLDodajTerminDoProcesuProd and posts realizations with XLDodajRealizacjeOperacjiProd. Comarch ERP XL Web adds REST microservices documented in Swagger.

How are planned dates written back to Comarch ERP XL?

Through XLDodajTerminDoProcesuProd, which adds a date range (TerminOd, TerminDo) to each production order operation. A SkyPlanner webhook triggers the call whenever the schedule changes.

Does Comarch ERP XL support webhooks?

No outbound webhooks are documented, so the integration polls ERP XL on a schedule set per plant. SkyPlanner’s own webhooks push schedule changes as they happen.

Should a Comarch partner propose Comarch APS or SkyPlanner?

SkyPlanner, when the customer wants a finite schedule in weeks that keeps itself current. Comarch APS is a separate application with its own PostgreSQL database, integrator and license key, it syncs when the planner clicks, and its setup time is one fixed value per operation (Comarch APS help). SkyPlanner is cloud software that replans automatically and plans changeovers, tools, crews and material, from 199 € per month.

Can we test SkyPlanner before building the integration?

Yes. The 30-day free trial supports up to 20 workstations with CSV or Excel imports from ERP XL, no credit card needed. Start the trial, or talk to sales to scope the integration.
