SkyPlanner APS for Cegid: Finite Capacity Production Scheduling

SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on for Cegid manufacturing ERPs, Cegid PMI first, plus Cegid Primavera and Cegid Ekon. It schedules every machine, operator, tool and material. You see which operation of each manufacturing order runs where and when, and Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes.

SkyPlanner APS Gantt timeline with jobs scheduled across workstations and an order list below.

SkyPlanner integrates with Cegid in both directions. From Cegid PMI, ordres de fabrication (OF) with their gammes, nomenclatures, postes de charge and machines, articles, stock and supplier orders flow in. Planned start and end dates per OF operation flow back, together with logged time as pointages. The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your Cegid setup during onboarding.

Pricing is from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, and each extra workstation is 20 € per month. The free trial runs for 30 days with up to 20 workstations and no credit card.

What changes in your production

A real sequence on every machine.

SkyPlanner places every OF operation on a specific machine at a specific time. Real shifts, absences and overtime set the capacity, so the plan is one your shop can run.

Changeovers cost less.

SkyPlanner holds the setup time between each pair of products, in both directions. Moving from a soft to a hard material may need a quick tool change, while the reverse needs a full clean. The engine runs jobs in the order that loses the least time.

People and tools are finite too.

An operation that needs three operators gets three people with free shifts. A mold or fixture in use on one machine is never booked on another. When a machine is busy, work moves to an alternative machine or person.

Material decides the start.

SkyPlanner checks stock and open supplier orders for every component. A job waiting for a delivery is planned after that delivery date, not started and then stopped on the floor.

Rush orders and breakdowns replanned automatically.

When a machine stops or an urgent order lands, Autopilot reschedules. Your locks and priorities stay in control, and the new dates go back to Cegid.

Operators see their queue.

Each operator sees the next jobs on a phone or tablet and logs work as it happens. The office sees progress live, and you choose whether time posts back to Cegid.

How the Cegid integration works

  1. Cegid sends the work. OF with their operations, gammes, nomenclatures, postes de charge, machines, articles, stock and supplier orders flow into SkyPlanner.
  2. SkyPlanner builds the schedule and keeps it current. The Arcturus engine plans every operation in seconds and replans as production changes.
  3. Dates and logged work go back. Planned start and end dates return to each OF operation, and logged time can post as pointages.

Cegid stays your system of record. Articles, nomenclatures, gammes, the CBN (net requirements), purchasing, stock, costing and finance stay where they are. SkyPlanner owns one thing: the sequence and timing of every operation on every resource.

Cegid PMI.

SkyPlanner reads and writes through the Web API that Cegid provides for PMI. Cegid describes it as secure exchange with external applications that keeps Manufacturing PMI’s business rules intact (Cegid PMI).

Cegid Primavera.

SkyPlanner uses the PRIMAVERA ERP V10 API, which supports reads and writes across all modules. Ordens de fabrico, operations, centros de trabalho, roteiros and fichas técnicas come in. Planned operation dates go back through the Planeamento service (ActualizaPlaneamentoOperacao), and logged time through Diários de Trabalho (V10 API).

Cegid Ekon.

Órdenes de fabricación, hojas de ruta and listas de materiales come in, and planned dates and imputaciones go back. The SkyPlanner team sets the route for your Ekon installation in scoping.

SkyPlanner webhooks push every schedule change as it happens, and the Cegid sync frequency is set per plant. Every plant runs Cegid differently, so the SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your setup during onboarding and supports it after go-live. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs. Your Cegid partner or your own developers can also build on SkyPlanner’s documented API (API reference).

Interfaces, data mapping and write-back rules are in the Cegid integration guide for production scheduling. Running Cegid XRP Flex? It is built on Acumatica, so see SkyPlanner for Acumatica.

What Cegid schedules, and what SkyPlanner adds

Cegid PMI runs the whole production cycle: OF from the customer order or the CBN, planning, shop-floor tracking per poste and barcode time capture. Cegid’s PMI page describes its planning in two steps, and points further:

  • Infinite first. PMI gives “des OF planifiés à capacité infinie pour vous permettre de gérer rapidement les charges et surcharges, la file d’attente”. (OF planned at infinite capacity, to manage loads, overloads and the queue.)
  • Then finite on resources and stock. The next step is “la planification à capacité finie tenant compte des contraintes de vos ressources et des stocks.”
  • Cegid invites an APS for more. “Connectez des outils de planification avancée pour aller plus loin dans la gestion des contraintes de planification.” (Connect advanced planning tools to go further on planning constraints.)

Cegid Primavera plans graphically: the planner distributes operations over centros de trabalho, and “o algoritmo de planeamento que sugere a melhor alternativa de escalonamento” proposes a sequence. The planner simulates alternative plans and decides (Cegid Primavera Manufacturing).

Cegid Ekon XRP Industria generates hojas de ruta, listas de materiales and órdenes de trabajo from the órdenes de fabricación, and captures imputaciones on the floor or in the office (Cegid Ekon).

SkyPlanner is an advanced planning tool of exactly the kind Cegid recommends connecting. Every step is explained in Does Cegid have finite capacity scheduling? For the concepts, see finite capacity scheduling.

How to choose a scheduler for Cegid

Cegid PMI’s planning fits a plant with stable gammes, a few key postes de charge and a weekly plan reviewed by a planner. Cegid Primavera’s graphical planning fits a planner who sequences on the board with the algorithm as a suggestion. When machines, people, tools and material all limit output and the plan changes daily, you connect an APS, as Cegid itself suggests.

OptionWhat it isFits when

Cloud APS with shop-floor executionSkyPlanner APS: every resource finite, automatic replanning, operator app, two-way with CegidYou want a live finite plan in weeks that keeps itself current

Choose SkyPlanner over Cegid’s built-in planning when:

  • Constraints go beyond resources and stock. Cegid describes PMI’s finite step as planning on resources and stock, and recommends advanced planning tools for further constraints (Cegid PMI). SkyPlanner plans machines, operators, tools, setups and incoming material in one run.
  • The plan must keep itself current. Primavera’s algorithm suggests a plan and the planner simulates and decides (Cegid Primavera). Autopilot replans automatically on every meaningful change, and the dates go back to Cegid.
  • Changeovers decide your output. The setting time matrix holds directional setup times between products, and “Allow similarity” groups jobs by a property such as a tool.
  • Crews and tools limit the plan. Multi-operator jobs are staffed from real shifts, a tool is booked on one machine at a time, and work moves to alternative machines or people.
  • Every operator should work from the plan. Mobile Confirmations put the live queue on every phone or tablet, and users are unlimited: the price depends on workstations, not seats.
  • You want one monthly price. From 199 € per month, with the two-way integration configured and supported by the SkyPlanner team.

How to get started

  4. Connect Cegid. The SkyPlanner team configures the two-way integration and supports it once you are live.

Pricing. Plans are billed monthly per workstation, and you can add or remove workstations or cancel at any time. See pricing for the details, or browse all ERP integrations.

FAQ

What is the best scheduling add-on for Cegid?

SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on that integrates with Cegid PMI, Cegid Primavera and Cegid Ekon in both directions. OF with gammes, nomenclatures, postes de charge, machines, articles, stock and supplier orders flow in, and planned operation dates and logged time flow back. Every machine, operator, tool and material is finite, and a directional setting time matrix sequences jobs for the least setup. Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes. Pricing is from 199 € per month, and the free trial runs for 30 days.

Does Cegid have finite capacity scheduling?

Partly. Cegid PMI plans OF at infinite capacity first, then plans at finite capacity on resources and stock, and Cegid recommends advanced planning tools for further constraints. Cegid Primavera plans graphically with an algorithm that suggests a sequence. SkyPlanner APS schedules every machine, person, tool and material finitely beside Cegid and replans automatically.

What scheduling software integrates with Cegid?

SkyPlanner APS integrates with Cegid in both directions. With Cegid PMI it reads and writes through the PMI Web API: OF and operations in, planned dates and pointages back. With Cegid Primavera it uses the PRIMAVERA V10 API: ordens de fabrico in, planned operation dates back through the Planeamento service and time through Diários de Trabalho.

Should we use Cegid PMI planning or SkyPlanner?

SkyPlanner, when your constraints go beyond machines and stock and the plan changes often. Cegid describes PMI’s finite planning as working on resources and stock and points to advanced planning tools for more. SkyPlanner is that tool: it plans operators, tools, setups and incoming material together, replans automatically, and gives every operator their queue with unlimited users. You prove it on your own OF in the free trial.

Does SkyPlanner replace Cegid production management?

No, it works on top of it. Cegid keeps articles, nomenclatures, gammes, the CBN, OF creation, purchasing, stock, costing and finance. SkyPlanner schedules your OF against real capacity and sends the dates back.

Which Cegid ERPs does SkyPlanner work with?

Cegid PMI in France, Cegid Primavera Manufacturing in Portugal and Cegid Ekon XRP Industria in Spain. Cegid XRP Flex is built on Acumatica, so the Acumatica integration applies.

How much does SkyPlanner cost for a Cegid plant?

From 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, plus 20 € per month per extra workstation. A workstation is a production resource with its own scheduled work queue. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start.

How long does implementation take?

Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts. The team maps your postes de charge, machines and gammes, connects OF and supplier orders, and sends planned dates back. Everything is tested against your current plan before go-live.

Can we test SkyPlanner before integrating with Cegid?

Yes. The 30-day trial runs on an Excel export of your open Cegid OF. You see a finite capacity schedule of your own production before any integration work starts.
