SkyPlanner APS for Sylob ERP: Finite Capacity Production Scheduling
SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on for Sylob ERP that schedules every machine, operator, tool and material. You see which manufacturing order (ordre de fabrication, OF) runs on which work center and when, and Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes.
SkyPlanner integrates with Sylob ERP in both directions: OFs with their operations, routings (gammes), work centers (centres de charge), stock and purchase orders flow in, and planned operation dates, work centers and operator declarations flow back. The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your Sylob setup during onboarding.
Pricing is from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, and each extra workstation is 20 € per month. The free trial runs for 30 days with up to 20 workstations and no credit card.
What changes in your production
Every resource finite at once.
Every machine, person and tool gets a finite schedule with real shifts, absences and overtime. A work center with three machines runs three jobs side by side, and none of them is overbooked. When a machine is full, work moves to an alternative machine or person.
Delivery dates you can promise.
Each OF gets a planned finish date based on real capacity. Sales answers customers from the plan, not from a backward-scheduled need date.
Changes replanned automatically.
When a machine stops, a rush order arrives or a job finishes early, Autopilot reschedules automatically. Your locks and priorities stay in control.
Fewer changeovers.
SkyPlanner knows the setup time between each pair of products, in both directions. Blue to red can take 30 minutes and red to blue 60. The engine runs jobs in the order that loses the least time.
Shared tools and crews respected.
A mold or fixture in use on one machine is never booked on another. A job that needs three operators gets three people with free shifts.
Material checked before work starts.
SkyPlanner schedules against Sylob stock and open purchase orders (commandes fournisseurs). A job waiting for a supplier delivery is planned after the delivery date instead of stalling at the machine.
Operators see their queue.
Each operator sees the next jobs on a phone or tablet and logs work as it happens. The office sees progress live, and the declarations go back to Sylob.

How the Sylob ERP integration works
- Sylob sends the work. Firm OFs with their operations, work centers, setup and run times flow into SkyPlanner, together with stock and purchase orders.
- SkyPlanner builds the schedule and keeps it current. The Arcturus engine plans every operation on every workstation in seconds and replans as production changes.
- Dates and declarations go back. SkyPlanner webhooks push every schedule change as it happens. Planned start, end and work center return to each OF operation in Sylob, and operator timelogs become production declarations (déclarations de production).
The integration runs on Sylob’s own public REST APIs. SkyPlanner reads Sylob data through saved queries on the Système d’information API, and writes back through actions in the Sylob action catalogue on the Action API. Every plant sets up its Sylob queries, gammes and work centers differently, so the SkyPlanner team maps your objects during onboarding and supports the integration after go-live. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs. Your Sylob partner or your own developers can also build on SkyPlanner’s documented API (API reference).
Queries, actions, authentication and field mapping are explained in the Sylob ERP integration guide for production scheduling.

What Sylob schedules, and what SkyPlanner adds
Sylob 9 covers several planning levels: PIC, PDP, net requirements (CBN), a load plan per work center and short-term scheduling. Sylob’s own documentation describes how capacity works:
- Capacity type per work center. Each centre de charge is set to infinite or finite capacity. With infinite capacity, operations are placed on need dates only and several can run at once, so overloads show up in the load plan for the planner to smooth. (Forterro knowledge base)
- One operation at a time when finite. “Gérer à capacité finie implique qu’une seule opération est permise sur le centre de charge.” Finite capacity means only one operation is allowed on the work center.
- Infinite first. Sylob’s training advises starting with infinite capacity, because finite needs a dedicated scheduler, reliable technical data and production declarations close to real time.
- Changes count once validated. In the planning activities, “Les modifications du planning sont répercutées en production uniquement lorsqu’elles sont validées.” Plan changes reach production only when the planner validates them. (Forterro)
- Optimization in a separate APS. For finite scheduling under constraints with scenario simulation, Sylob offers CADPLAN, “qui s’interface parfaitement à l’ERP Sylob et le complète”: it interfaces with Sylob and completes it. (Sylob)
So a plant that wants the whole floor on one finite schedule needs a dedicated scheduler next to Sylob. Every step is explained in Does Sylob ERP have finite capacity scheduling?, and the basics of the method in our finite capacity scheduling guide.
Sylob ERP today and with SkyPlanner
| Sylob planning (plan de charge and finite work centers) | Sylob ERP with SkyPlanner APS | |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | Infinite by default; finite centers run one operation at a time | Every machine, person and tool finite, with shifts |
| Schedule | Load calculation, then planner moves and validates operations | Operation-level schedule in seconds |
| Changeovers | Setup time per operation in the gamme | Jobs ordered for the least total setup |
| Resources | Number of resources per work center | Tools finite; multi-operator jobs staffed |
| Materials | Optional critical-component constraint on finite planning | Jobs start when stock or purchase order deliveries are there |
| Changes | Recalculate loads, then review and validate | Autopilot replans within your priorities |
| Shop floor | Declarations in Sylob or Sylob Apps | Operator queue and logging on phone or tablet, declarations back to Sylob |
Choose SkyPlanner over CADPLAN when
CADPLAN is Sylob’s APS module. Forterro’s user training covers its own methods data (manufactured references, phases, gammes), simulation definitions with OF selection and hypotheses, standard heuristics and interactive editing of the result. (Forterro training program) Sylob publishes no price for it. SkyPlanner schedules the whole plant from your Sylob OFs, replans by itself and reaches the shop floor, at a public price.
- You want a live schedule in weeks. SkyPlanner is cloud software beside Sylob ERP. You test it on your own OFs in the 30-day trial, and implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts.
- The plan changes every day. Autopilot replans automatically on every meaningful change, without a planner defining and running a simulation, and the new dates go back to Sylob.
- Changeovers decide your output. The setting time matrix holds directional changeover times between products and orders jobs for the least total setup.
- Tools, crews and material decide what runs next. Every machine, person, tool and material is finite, multi-operator jobs are staffed, alternative workstations are used, and jobs start only when stock or purchase orders deliver the material.
- Operators should work from the plan. Mobile Confirmations put each operator’s queue on a phone or tablet, and declarations flow back to Sylob.
- You want the full cost up front. From 199 € per month, with the two-way integration configured and supported by the SkyPlanner team.
How to get started

FAQ
What is the best scheduling add-on for Sylob ERP?
SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on that integrates with Sylob ERP in both directions: OFs, gammes, work centers, stock and purchase orders flow in, and planned operation dates, work centers and production declarations flow back. Every machine, operator, tool and material is finite, and a directional setting time matrix sequences jobs for the least setup. Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes. Pricing is from 199 € per month, and the free trial runs for 30 days.
What scheduling software integrates with Sylob ERP?
SkyPlanner APS integrates with Sylob ERP through Sylob’s public REST APIs. It reads OFs, operations, work centers, stock and purchase orders from saved queries, and writes planned dates and declarations back through the Sylob action catalogue. Sylob’s own APS module is CADPLAN. The SkyPlanner team configures the integration during onboarding, or your Sylob partner or developers build it on SkyPlanner’s REST API.
Does Sylob ERP have finite capacity scheduling?
Yes, per work center. A centre de charge can be set to finite capacity, and then only one operation runs on it at a time. Sylob advises starting with infinite capacity, because finite planning needs a dedicated scheduler, reliable technical data and near real-time declarations. SkyPlanner APS schedules every machine, person, tool and material as finite at once, next to Sylob.
Should we use CADPLAN or SkyPlanner?
Use SkyPlanner when you want the whole plant on one finite schedule that keeps itself current. CADPLAN gives a planner simulations, heuristics and interactive editing on its own methods data. SkyPlanner schedules your Sylob OFs directly, replans automatically on every change, plans tools, crews, changeovers and material, and gives operators their queue on a phone. You see your own schedule in the trial before deciding anything.
Does SkyPlanner replace Sylob production management?
No, it works on top of it. Sylob keeps articles, nomenclatures, gammes, CBN, purchasing, stock, quality and finance. SkyPlanner schedules the OFs against real capacity and sends planned dates and declarations back.
How much does SkyPlanner cost for a Sylob shop?
From 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, plus 20 € per month per extra workstation. A workstation is a production resource with its own scheduled work queue. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start.
How long does implementation take?
Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts. The team maps your gammes and work centers, connects OFs and purchase orders, and sends planned dates back. Everything is tested against your current plan before go-live.
Can we test SkyPlanner before integrating with Sylob ERP?
Yes. The 30-day trial runs on a CSV or Excel export of your Sylob OFs. You see a finite capacity schedule of your own production before any integration work starts.
