SkyPlanner APS for MRPeasy: Finite Capacity Production Scheduling

SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on for MRPeasy that puts all open manufacturing orders into one schedule at once. Every workstation, operator, tool and material is respected, and Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes.

SkyPlanner APS Gantt timeline with jobs scheduled across workstations and an order list below.

SkyPlanner integrates with MRPeasy in both directions: manufacturing orders, routings, workstations and items flow in, and planned dates and progress flow back. The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your MRPeasy setup during onboarding.

Pricing is from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, and each extra workstation is 20 € per month. The free trial runs for 30 days with up to 20 workstations and no credit card.

What changes in your production

The whole schedule, not one order at a time.

MRPeasy books each new manufacturing order into the first free slot. SkyPlanner’s Arcturus engine sequences every open order in one run, by priority, due date and material.

Delivery dates you can promise.

Each manufacturing order gets a finish date from the whole plant’s schedule, with every other order already in it. Sales answers customers from the plan, not from the order that happened to be entered first.

Rush orders that really jump the queue.

Give an order Fast Track or a higher priority, and the engine moves other work to make room. Nobody drags ten orders across the Gantt chart by hand.

Breakdowns replanned automatically.

When a machine stops, material is late or work finishes early, Autopilot reschedules automatically. Your locks and priorities stay in control, and Running Time Lock keeps started jobs in place.

Fewer changeovers.

SkyPlanner knows the setup time between each pair of products, in both directions. Blue to red can take 30 minutes and red to blue 60. The engine runs jobs in the order that loses the least time.

Shared tools and crews respected.

A die or fixture in use on one workstation is never booked on another. A job that needs three operators gets three people with free shifts.

Material checked on every move.

SkyPlanner checks stock and incoming purchase orders whenever the plan changes. A job waiting for a vendor delivery is planned after that delivery date.

Operators see their queue.

Each operator sees the next jobs on a phone or tablet and logs work as it happens. The office sees progress live, and progress goes back to MRPeasy.

How the MRPeasy integration works

  1. MRPeasy sends the work. Manufacturing orders, routings, workstation groups, workstations, items, stock and purchase orders flow into SkyPlanner.
  2. SkyPlanner builds the schedule and keeps it current. The Arcturus engine plans every operation on every workstation in seconds and replans as production changes.
  3. Dates and progress go back. Planned dates and progress return to each manufacturing order in MRPeasy, so sales and purchasing see the same plan as the floor.

SkyPlanner has been integrated with MRPeasy in customer projects. The integration runs on the MRPeasy REST API, so nothing is installed in MRPeasy. SkyPlanner webhooks push schedule changes as they happen, and new or changed orders are picked up from MRPeasy on a short polling cycle. Every plant runs MRPeasy differently, so the SkyPlanner team maps your routings, workstation groups and order flow during onboarding and supports the integration after go-live.

The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs. Your MRPeasy consultant or your own developers can also build on SkyPlanner’s documented API (API reference).

Endpoints, field mapping, rate limits and write-back are covered in the MRPeasy integration guide for production scheduling.

What MRPeasy schedules, and what SkyPlanner adds

MRPeasy schedules operations against finite workstation capacity. It does so order by order, in the order you enter them. The MRPeasy user manual is clear about what happens next:

  • First free slot. “By default, the software schedules the Manufacturing Order to the first available time.”
  • One order moves, the rest stay. “The software will only reschedule the manufacturing order which has been dragged to a new time, other manufacturing orders will not be rescheduled.”
  • No material check on the Gantt chart. When you drag an order, “The software will not check for material availability.”
  • Downtime does not move work. “Setting an idle time does not reschedule works automatically which were previously planned for the idle time.”

Backward scheduling needs the Enterprise plan, and MRPeasy states that “Material lead times are ignored when backward scheduling is used.” Setup time is one fixed value per routing operation, whatever ran before. So every rush order, breakdown or late delivery means a planner resequencing orders by hand. Each limit is explained in Does MRPeasy have finite capacity scheduling?

How to choose a scheduler for MRPeasy

MRPeasy’s own scheduling fits a small shop with few bottlenecks, where orders are entered in the order they should run. Beyond that, buyers look at four routes: MRPeasy alone, spreadsheet schedulers fed by CSV exports, generic automation tools for notifications, and a cloud APS that writes back.

  • Choose SkyPlanner when new priorities must reshuffle existing orders, not only fill free gaps.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when your planner spends hours a day dragging orders after breakdowns and late deliveries.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when changeovers depend on sequence. The setting time matrix decides the order.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when shared tools and crews decide what can run next.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when you want the schedule back in MRPeasy, not in a separate spreadsheet.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when operators should work from their own queue on phone or tablet.

How to get started

  1. Start the free trial. 30 days, up to 20 workstations, all Basic features, no credit card.
  2. Model your production. Create workstations, people and shifts in SkyPlanner, or import them. Assisted onboarding is available.
  3. Load your orders. Export items, BOMs, routings and open manufacturing orders from MRPeasy list views to CSV, import them and compare SkyPlanner’s schedule with your current plan.
  4. Connect MRPeasy. The SkyPlanner team configures the two-way integration and supports it once you are live.

Pricing. Plans are billed monthly per workstation, and you can add or remove workstations or cancel at any time. See pricing for the details. Using another system too? See all ERP integrations.

FAQ

What is the best scheduling add-on for MRPeasy?

SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on that integrates with MRPeasy in both directions: manufacturing orders, routings, workstations and items flow in, and planned dates and progress flow back. Every workstation, operator, tool and material is finite, and a directional setting time matrix sequences jobs for the least setup. Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes. Pricing is from 199 € per month, and the free trial runs for 30 days.

Does MRPeasy have finite capacity scheduling?

Yes, order by order. MRPeasy books each new manufacturing order into the first free workstation slot, and moving one order does not move the others. SkyPlanner APS sequences all open orders together and replans automatically when production changes.

Do we need to install anything in MRPeasy?

No. SkyPlanner runs in the cloud beside MRPeasy and connects through the MRPeasy REST API. SkyPlanner has been integrated with MRPeasy in customer projects.

Does SkyPlanner replace MRPeasy?

No, it works on top of it. MRPeasy keeps items, BOMs, routings, stock, procurement, sales and accounting. SkyPlanner schedules your manufacturing orders against real capacity and sends dates and progress back.

How much does SkyPlanner cost next to MRPeasy?

From 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, plus 20 € per month per extra workstation. A plant with 20 workstations pays 499 € per month, whatever the number of MRPeasy users. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start.

Which MRPeasy plan do we need for the integration?

The live integration runs on the MRPeasy REST API, which MRPeasy includes in its Unlimited plan. The trial works on any MRPeasy plan, because it runs on CSV exports from MRPeasy list views.

How long does implementation take?

Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts. The team maps your workstation groups and routings, connects manufacturing orders and purchase orders, and sends planned dates back. Everything is tested against your current plan before go-live.

Can we test SkyPlanner with our MRPeasy data first?

Yes. Export routings, workstations and open manufacturing orders to CSV and import them in the trial. You see a finite capacity schedule of your own production before any integration work starts.
