SkyPlanner APS for Visma Net: Finite Capacity Production Scheduling

SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on for Visma Net, Visma’s cloud ERP, and the production scheduler for the manufacturers who run it. Every machine, operator, tool and material gets a finite capacity schedule, and Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes.

SkyPlanner APS Gantt timeline with jobs scheduled across workstations and an order list below.

SkyPlanner integrates with Visma Net in both directions. Stock items, Kit specifications, sales orders, stock levels and purchase orders flow in, and finished work goes back as released Kit assemblies and time cards. The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your Visma Net setup during onboarding.

Pricing is from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, and each extra workstation is 20 € per month. The free trial runs for 30 days with up to 20 workstations and no credit card.

What changes in your production

A real production plan next to Visma Net.

Visma Net knows what you sold, what you bought and what is in stock. SkyPlanner adds the part it leaves out: process steps, workstations, shifts and capacity. You see which job runs where and when, weeks ahead.

No more overbooked machines or people.

Every workstation and operator has real shifts, leave and overtime. A fixture in use on one machine is never booked on another. A job that needs two operators gets two people with free shifts, and work moves to an alternative machine when the first choice is busy.

Delivery dates from the plan.

Sales quotes the finish date the schedule shows, not a standard lead time. When a customer asks for a date, you answer from real capacity.

Fewer changeovers.

SkyPlanner stores the switch time between each pair of products, in both directions. Changing from one color to another can take 30 minutes one way and 60 the other. The engine runs jobs in the order that loses the least time to setups.

Material checked before the job starts.

SkyPlanner reads Visma Net stock and open purchase orders. A job waiting for a supplier delivery is planned after that delivery date, instead of stalling half-built on the floor.

Operators see their queue.

Each operator sees the next jobs on a phone or tablet and logs work as it happens. Finished jobs go back to Visma Net, so stock and cost stay current without double entry.

Visma Net Kit assembly and finite capacity scheduling

Visma Net is built for finance, sales, purchasing, stock and projects. Its functional overview has no manufacturing area. The one production function is kit assembly, which Visma describes in a single line: “Makes possible the creation of kit specifications and kit assembly and disassembly according to specifications.”

What that means for a plant:

  • No routings, work centers or capacity. Kit specifications (IN209500) list components and quantities per revision. There are no operations, machines or run times. Labor is only a cost line, a non-stock component of type Labour.
  • One date per assembly. The Kit assembly (IN307000) document carries one date, defined as “The date when the kit assembly document was created.” It has no planned start, finish or resource.
  • Advanced logistics required. Kit assembly sits in the Advanced logistics functionality group, next to Inventory replenishment.
  • Replenishment buys, it does not schedule. Prepare replenishment (IN508000) suggests purchase and transfer orders per warehouse. It creates no assembly orders and checks no capacity.
  • Visma points to a separate system. Visma’s Norwegian industry page lists production management (“Produksjonsstyring”) among the systems Visma Net works with.

The result: the real plan lives in a spreadsheet or on a whiteboard, and Visma Net records what was assembled afterwards. SkyPlanner is the production planning layer Visma Net leaves to a dedicated system.

How the Visma Net integration works

SkyPlanner connects through the Visma Net API at api.finance.visma.net, authorized with Visma Connect. Nothing is installed in Visma Net. Webhooks from the Visma Developer Portal signal changed items, sales orders and purchase orders, and SkyPlanner’s own webhooks push schedule changes as they happen.

Every plant runs Visma Net differently, and Visma Net holds no routings. So the SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your setup during onboarding and supports it after go-live. That includes building the process steps and workstations Visma Net does not have.

Two more routes are open:

  • Your Visma Net partner. Visma Net is delivered together with Visma-certified partners, who know your setup and can build or review the integration.
  • Your own developers. They build on SkyPlanner’s documented REST API (API reference), and an API token is enough to start.

The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start. During the trial you work from CSV or Excel files, before any integration. Endpoints, data mapping and write-back rules are in the Visma Net integration guide for production scheduling.

How to choose a scheduler for Visma Net

Visma Net on its own fits a business that assembles kits in one step, where no machine, person or tool limits the plan. Once capacity decides your delivery dates, you need a scheduler beside it.

  • Choose SkyPlanner when machines, people and tools limit output, not only component stock.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when you need the routings Visma Net does not hold. Process steps, setups and workstations live in SkyPlanner, built on your Visma Net items and Kit specifications.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when changeovers decide your output. Jobs run in the order with the least total setup.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when material arrival decides which job starts. Stock and incoming purchase orders are checked in the schedule.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when the plan changes several times a week. Autopilot replans, Running Time Lock keeps running jobs in place, and finished work goes back to Visma Net.
  • Choose SkyPlanner when you want scheduling and shop-floor reporting in one tool.

FAQ

What is the best scheduling add-on for Visma Net?

SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on that integrates with Visma Net in both directions: stock items, Kit specifications, sales orders, stock levels and purchase orders flow in, and finished work goes back as released Kit assemblies and time cards. Every machine, operator, tool and material is finite, and a directional setting time matrix sequences jobs for the least setup. Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes. Pricing is from 199 € per month, and the free trial runs for 30 days.

Does Visma Net have production scheduling?

No. Visma Net has no routings, work centers, production orders or capacity planning. Its production function is Kit assembly, which records components and a finished quantity on one date. SkyPlanner APS adds finite capacity production scheduling beside Visma Net.

Is Visma Net the same as Visma.net ERP or Visma Nova?

Visma Net is the current name of Visma.net ERP, Visma’s multi-tenant cloud ERP for the Nordics and Benelux. Visma Nova, Visma L7 and Visma Business are different Visma ERPs with their own data models. This page covers Visma Net.

Do we need to install anything in Visma Net?

No. SkyPlanner runs in the cloud and connects through the Visma Net API. Your Visma Net tenant administrator approves the SkyPlanner service integration in Visma Connect, and that is all the Visma Net side needs.

Does SkyPlanner replace Visma Net?

No, it works beside it. Visma Net keeps items, Kit specifications, sales, purchasing, stock and finance. SkyPlanner plans production against real capacity and sends finished work back.

How much does SkyPlanner cost for a Visma Net company?

From 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, plus 20 € per month per extra workstation. A workstation is a production resource with its own scheduled work queue. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start.

How long does implementation take?

Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts. The team sets up your workstations and process steps, connects sales orders, stock and purchase orders, and turns on the write-back to Kit assembly.

Can we test SkyPlanner before integrating with Visma Net?

Yes. The 30-day trial runs on an Excel or CSV export from Visma Net. You see a finite capacity schedule of your own production before any integration work starts.
