Monitor ERP Integration Guide for Production Scheduling with SkyPlanner APS
This Monitor ERP integration guide shows partners and IT teams how to connect Monitor ERP (Monitor G5) to SkyPlanner APS. SkyPlanner integrates with Monitor ERP in both directions through the Monitor ERP API:
- Manufacturing orders, operations, work centers, routings and materials flow in.
- Planned start, planned finish and work center per operation are written back to Monitor.
- Reported time and quantities keep both systems in step.
- SkyPlanner webhooks push schedule changes as they happen.
The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your Monitor G5 setup during onboarding and supports it after go-live. This guide is for partners and developers who want to take part, or to build on SkyPlanner’s documented REST API (API reference) themselves.
The Monitor ERP API
Monitor G5’s documented integration interface is the Monitor ERP API v1. It is a CQRS and REST hybrid with JSON over HTTPS. (Monitor ERP API)
- Queries read data with GET. They accept OData-style options:
$filter,$select,$expand,$orderby,$topand$skip. - Commands write data with POST, for example
Manufacturing/ManufacturingOrderOperations/Update. - Batch runs several commands in one all-or-nothing transaction through
POST /api/v1/Batch. Append/Simulateor/Validateto test a batch and roll it back. That is the safe way to write a whole schedule. (Batch)
The base URL is https://{host}:8001/{languageCode}/{companyNumber}/api/v1/. The company number combines the database number and company id, for example 004.1.
On licensing, Monitor says: “It is free to query and extract information from the API for all our customers. However, in order to use commands and write data to the ERP system, you need to purchase Monitor ERP API.” Plan the write licence into the project from day one. (api.monitor.se)
Authentication
- Session login.
POST /{languageCode}/{companyNumber}/loginwith a Monitor user’s username and password returns anX-Monitor-SessionIdheader for later calls. An MFA token flow is available. - OIDC. From Monitor 25.8, login also works through Microsoft Entra ID with Authorization Code and PKCE. (Authentication)
- Dedicated API user. Create one user for the integration. Monitor’s own permissions apply to it, such as Show manufacturing orders and Replan existing manufacturing order.
On the SkyPlanner side, the REST API authenticates with an API token (SkyPlanner Settings > API) and is documented in Swagger/OpenAPI. The integration tutorial walks through the first calls.
Change detection and polling
The Monitor ERP API reference documents no webhooks or event subscriptions. Changes are picked up by polling:
Common/EntityChangeLogs(from 2.33) returnsChangeType(Update, Create, Delete),EntityTypeId,EntityIdandModifiedTimestamp. Poll it every few minutes and fetch only the changed records. (EntityChangeLog)- Filter manufacturing order queries to open orders and page with
$topand$skip.
SkyPlanner sends webhooks when state or the schedule changes, so the write-back side is event-driven.

Integration patterns
1. Initial master data load. Read work centers, operation rows, alternative operation rows, material rows, parts and schedules. Map each work center to a SkyPlanner workstation deliberately. A Pool work center becomes a workstation group, and its incorporated work centers become the workstations the engine chooses between.
2. Order sync. Read open manufacturing orders with their nodes, operations and materials, plus stock and open purchase orders. SkyPlanner treats ordered material as available on the PO delivery date and updates stock when the PO is marked Delivered. After the first load, Common/EntityChangeLogs drives the delta.
3. Schedule write-back. For every operation the engine placed or moved, SkyPlanner sends ManufacturingOrderOperations/Update with PlannedStartDate and PlannedFinishDate. When the engine moved an operation to another machine in a pool, SetWorkCenter comes first. The commands for one order go in one Batch, so Monitor accepts all of them or none. Run the batch through /Validate during testing.
On Monitor versions before 24.5, the planned dates are not writable through Update. Use ManufacturingOrders/ReplanOperation (from 2.40) with StartDate and FinishDate instead, and set RestrictToOrderBounds to match your rules.
4. Shop-floor confirmations. Keep one reporting channel:
- Monitor stays the channel. Operators report on the Recording terminal or through machine integration as today. SkyPlanner reads
ManufacturingOrderOperationReportingsas progress and replans. - SkyPlanner becomes the channel. Operators log work with Mobile Confirmations or the Production Timer, and SkyPlanner posts
ReportManufacturingOrderOperationto Monitor.
Reporting from both sides duplicates time and quantities.
5. Ownership and conflict rules. Write them down before go-live:
| Data | Owner |
|---|---|
| Parts, BOM and routing, quantities, order status | Monitor |
| Operation sequence, planned start and finish, work center within a pool | SkyPlanner |
| Setting time matrix, tools, operator counts, alternative resources | SkyPlanner |
| Shifts and absences | One system, chosen in scoping |
| Operation reporting | One channel, chosen in scoping |
The main conflict source is planners still working the priority plan. Rescheduling according to New finish and dragging rows in Priority planning overwrite the dates SkyPlanner wrote. Once SkyPlanner owns the sequence, Priority planning becomes a view. With Autopilot, SkyPlanner reschedules automatically when production changes.
Typical project steps
Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts. Before that, the 30-day free trial runs on your own data. Export open manufacturing order operations and work centers from Monitor to Excel, import them and validate the schedule before any integration work.
The project itself contains:
- Scoping. Fix the mapping table, ownership rules, polling intervals, reporting channel and Monitor version.
- Access. Create the API user, buy the Monitor ERP API write licence and open network access to port 8001.
- Initial load. Parts, work centers, operation rows, alternatives, materials and schedules.
- Order and purchase order sync on the change log.
- Constraint setup in SkyPlanner. Setting time matrix, tools, operator counts and alternative machines or personnel.
- Schedule write-back in batches, tested with
/Validate. - Parallel testing. Run SkyPlanner beside the priority plan, compare dates, fix master data.
- Go-live. Switch on write-back once the data matches.
What to plan for in a Monitor ERP integration
- Availability factor. Monitor reduces gross capacity to net with the availability factor, 80 % by default on a new work center. Apply it once, as SkyPlanner efficiency or as shorter shifts, never both.
- Time precision. Work centers on Day planning carry capacity as basic time per day, with no shift times. Map real shifts in SkyPlanner from production schedules so jobs land inside working hours.
- Queue time and overlap. Operation rows carry queue time and overlap in %. Decide in scoping how each maps to SkyPlanner, or lead times change after go-live.
- Pools. Pool work centers are planned in Pool planning, not Priority planning. Read the incorporated work centers, not only the pool row.
- Version gates. Planned dates through Update need 24.5. Work center capacity fields in the API need 24.3, and OIDC needs 25.8. Check the build before scoping.
- Network and certificate. On-premises Monitor serves the API on port 8001 with a self-signed certificate. SkyPlanner runs in the cloud, so plan a firewall rule or a relay and trust the certificate explicitly.
- Licences. Each third-party application that writes needs its own API licence users. One read-only API user ships with every system.
The Monitor ERP integration: who configures and supports it
The work covers mapping to your work centers, operation rows and order flow, plus the constraints Monitor does not hold: setting time matrix, tools, operator counts and alternative resources.
- The SkyPlanner team configures it during onboarding and supports it after go-live, covering the SkyPlanner side and the agreed Monitor ERP API calls. Every plant runs Monitor G5 differently, and this is where that know-how goes.
- Your Monitor partner can take part. The partner knows your setup, version and permissions and can prepare the API user, licence and network access. SkyPlanner provides the REST API, Swagger/OpenAPI documentation and webhooks.
- Your own developers can build on it against the same documented REST API with an API token. An API token is enough to start, and the SkyPlanner team assists when needed. Public documentation is at SkyPlanner docs.
Once connected, the Arcturus engine schedules from live Monitor orders, and planned dates land on the manufacturing order operations. SkyPlanner starts from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, billed monthly. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start. See pricing, how Monitor’s own planning compares in Monitor ERP finite capacity scheduling, the overview on the Monitor ERP page, and other ERPs in the ERP integrations hub.

FAQ
Does Monitor ERP have an API for manufacturing orders?
Yes. The Monitor ERP API exposes Manufacturing/ManufacturingOrders, ManufacturingOrderNodes, ManufacturingOrderOperations and ManufacturingOrderMaterials as queries. Commands such as ManufacturingOrderOperations/Update and ReplanOperation write planned dates back.
Is writing to Monitor through the API an extra licence?
Yes. Reading through the API is free for all Monitor customers. Commands that write data need the Monitor ERP API, which Monitor sells. Your Monitor partner or Monitor’s sales team quotes it.
Does the Monitor ERP API support webhooks?
No webhooks are documented. The integration polls Common/EntityChangeLogs every few minutes and fetches only changed records. In the other direction, SkyPlanner’s own webhooks push schedule changes as they happen.
Which Monitor version do we need?
Writing planned start and finish through ManufacturingOrderOperations/Update needs Monitor 24.5 or later. Older G5 builds from 2.40 use ReplanOperation. We confirm the route for your build during scoping.
Who builds the Monitor ERP integration?
The SkyPlanner team configures the two-way integration to your Monitor G5 setup during onboarding and supports it after go-live. Your Monitor partner or your own developers can also build on SkyPlanner’s documented REST API, and an API token is enough to start.
Can we test SkyPlanner before building the integration?
Yes. The 30-day free trial supports up to 20 workstations with Excel or CSV imports from Monitor, no credit card needed. Start the trial, or talk to sales to scope the integration.
