SkyPlanner APS for Infor LN: Finite Capacity Production Scheduling
SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on for Infor LN that schedules every machine, operator, tool and material. You see which operation runs where and when, and Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes.
SkyPlanner integrates with Infor LN in both directions: production orders, routing operations, work centers, items, stock and purchase orders flow in, and planned operation dates and reported hours flow back. The SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your LN setup during onboarding, on LN 10.x on-premises or LN in the cloud.
Pricing is from 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, and each extra workstation is 20 € per month. The free trial runs for 30 days with up to 20 workstations and no credit card.
What changes in your production
Every machine has a real limit.
Every machine, person and tool gets a finite schedule with real shifts, absences and overtime. Not only the critical machine groups. When a machine is busy, work moves to an alternative machine or person.
The planning board stops being a manual job.
The Arcturus engine sequences every production order operation in seconds. Your planner stops dragging operations on the Job Shop Planning Board and stops keeping the real sequence in Excel.
Fewer changeovers.
SkyPlanner knows how long it takes to switch a machine from one product to the next, in both directions. Blue to red can take 30 minutes and red to blue 60. The schedule runs jobs in the order that loses the least time to setups.
Shared tools and crews never double-booked.
A fixture in use on one machine is never booked on another. A job that needs three operators gets three people with free shifts.
A schedule that respects material.
SkyPlanner checks stock and incoming purchase orders. A job waiting for a vendor delivery is planned after that delivery date instead of stopping on the floor.
Operators see their queue.
Each operator sees the next jobs on a phone or tablet and logs work as it happens. Autopilot replans when a machine stops or a rush order lands, and the reported work goes back to LN.

How the Infor LN integration works
- Infor LN sends the work. Production orders with their operations, routing operations, work centers, machines, items, stock and purchase orders flow into SkyPlanner.
- SkyPlanner builds the schedule and keeps it current. The Arcturus engine plans every operation in seconds and replans as production changes.
- Dates and reported work go back. Planned start and finish dates return to the production order operations in LN, and operator timelogs come back as machine hours, labor hours and quantities.
SkyPlanner uses Infor’s own interfaces, so nothing is installed inside LN. On LN in the cloud, that is the LN REST API through the Infor ION API Gateway with OAuth 2.0. On-premises LN 10.x connects through ION BODs or file exports. Every plant runs LN differently, so the SkyPlanner team configures the integration to your setup during onboarding and supports it after go-live. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs. Your Infor LN partner or your own developers can also build on SkyPlanner’s documented API (API reference).
The technical details are in the Infor LN integration guide for production scheduling.
What Infor LN schedules, and what SkyPlanner adds
Infor LN plans supply, but Infor’s documentation is plain about the default: “In infinite master planning, LN generates a supply plan without taking into account any capacity or material constraints.” In daily production, that means:
- Capacity is checked per period, not per operation. Workload control caps the load on constrained work centers per plan period, and Infor states that “sequence dependent setup times are not taken into account.”
- The Job Shop Scheduler covers bottlenecks. From LN 10.8 it schedules bottleneck machines finitely, up to a few weeks ahead, by earliest due date or by shortest setup time on the changeover-critical group (source). Other operations are moved on the Job Shop Planning Board.
- Scheduler+ is a separate add-on module. It schedules machines, employees and tools with a changeover matrix, and Infor notes it “may require a commercial component” (source). It is documented from the LN 2026 releases, adds a Scheduled status, and orders with operations must be scheduled before release. SkyPlanner schedules machines, people, tools, materials and changeovers in one engine on every LN release, implemented within weeks.
Every limit, including Planner+ and Scheduler+, is explained in Does Infor LN have finite capacity scheduling?
Infor LN today and with SkyPlanner
| Infor LN | Infor LN with SkyPlanner APS | |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | Infinite master planning by default; workload control per period | Every machine, person and tool finite, with real shifts |
| Schedule | Job Shop Scheduler on bottlenecks (LN 10.8+); Scheduler+ add-on module for the wider shop floor | Every operation sequenced in seconds |
| Changeovers | Changeover matrix in the Scheduler+ add-on; workload control ignores sequence-dependent setups | Jobs ordered for the least setup time |
| Tools and crews | Employees and tools scheduled in the Scheduler+ add-on; Job Shop Scheduler covers machines only | Tools never double-booked; jobs get the operators they need |
| Materials | Material availability checked by the Job Shop Scheduler and Scheduler+ | Stock and incoming purchase orders checked for every job |
| Changes | Scheduler+: load LN data, run the engine, then the planner analyzes, modifies and accepts | Autopilot replans the whole plant automatically on every meaningful change |
| Shop floor | Hours and completed operations reported in LN sessions | Mobile Confirmations: operators see their queue and log work on phone or tablet |
| Time to value | Scheduler+ add-on documented from the LN 2026 releases, with a new Scheduled status before release | Live within weeks on the LN release you run today; 30-day trial on your own data |
How to choose a scheduler for Infor LN
The Job Shop Scheduler fits a plant with one or two bottleneck machine groups, where earliest-due-date and shortest-setup rules on them are good enough. For a mid-sized plant moving off spreadsheets, the real choice is Scheduler+ or SkyPlanner.
Choose SkyPlanner over Infor LN Scheduler+ when:
- You want results this quarter on the LN you run today. Scheduler+ is an add-on module that “may require a commercial component” and is documented from the LN 2026 releases (source). SkyPlanner connects to LN 10.x or LN in the cloud and is live within weeks after onboarding starts.
- The plan changes every day. Infor’s Scheduler+ workflow is to load data from LN, run the engine, and have the planner “analyze, modify, and accept” the result (source). SkyPlanner’s Autopilot replans automatically on every meaningful change, within your locks and priorities.
- You want to keep your LN order flow. With Scheduler+, orders with operations must be scheduled before release (source). SkyPlanner writes planned dates back without changing how you release orders.
- Every resource limits the plan. Every machine, person, tool and material is finite, with a setting time matrix for directional changeovers, multi-operator jobs and alternative workstations.
- Operators should work from the schedule. Mobile Confirmations put each operator’s queue on phone or tablet, and reported work flows back to LN.
- You want proof before you commit. The 30-day free trial runs on your own LN exports, and plans start from 199 € per month.

FAQ
What is the best scheduling add-on for Infor LN?
SkyPlanner APS is a finite capacity scheduling add-on that integrates with Infor LN in both directions: production orders, routing operations, work centers, items, stock and purchase orders flow in, and planned operation dates and reported hours flow back. Every machine, operator, tool and material is finite, and a directional setting time matrix sequences jobs for the least setup. Autopilot reschedules automatically when production changes. Pricing is from 199 € per month, and the free trial runs for 30 days.
Does Infor LN have finite capacity scheduling?
Partly, and it depends on your release. Master planning is infinite by default, and from LN 10.8 the Job Shop Scheduler schedules bottleneck machines finitely a few weeks ahead. Scheduler+, an add-on module documented from the LN 2026 releases, adds employees, tools and a changeover matrix. SkyPlanner APS gives every LN release a finite schedule for the whole plant.
Should we use Infor LN Scheduler+ or SkyPlanner?
Choose SkyPlanner when you want every machine, operator, tool and material scheduled finitely on the LN release you run today, live within weeks. Scheduler+ is an add-on module documented from the LN 2026 releases that “may require a commercial component”, and each schedule is run, then analyzed, modified and accepted by the planner. SkyPlanner’s Autopilot replans automatically, operators confirm work with Mobile Confirmations, and the SkyPlanner team configures and supports the two-way integration. Plans start from 199 € per month, with a 30-day free trial on your own data.
Do we need to install anything in Infor LN?
No. SkyPlanner runs in the cloud beside LN and connects through Infor’s own interfaces: LN REST services through the ION API Gateway, ION BODs or file exports. Your LN administrator activates the services and creates the API credentials.
Does SkyPlanner replace Infor LN Enterprise Planning or Shop Floor Control?
No, it works on top of them. LN keeps items, BOMs, routings, material planning, purchasing, inventory and costing. SkyPlanner schedules your production orders against real capacity and sends dates and reported work back.
Does SkyPlanner work with LN 10.x on-premises as well as LN in the cloud?
Yes. Cloud tenants connect through the ION API Gateway and LN REST services. On-premises LN 10.x connects through ION BODs or file exports. The schedule, the Gantt and the shop-floor apps are the same either way.
How much does SkyPlanner cost for an Infor LN plant?
From 199 € per month with 5 workstations included, plus 20 € per month per extra workstation. A workstation is a production resource with its own scheduled work queue. The integration is quoted up front for your process and needs, together with your plan, so you see the full cost before you start.
How long does implementation take?
Implementation is normally completed within weeks after onboarding starts. The team maps your work centers, machines and routing operations, connects production orders and stock, and sets up the write-back. Everything is tested against your current plan before go-live.
Can we test SkyPlanner before integrating with Infor LN?
Yes. The 30-day trial runs on Excel or CSV exports of your LN production orders, routing operations and work centers. You see a finite capacity schedule of your own production before any integration work starts.
