A Workstation can group different work orders by considering a property. A simple example is grouping them by color or dimensions.
Note: Before setting up a property to a Workstation, go to Global Rules and give a level of importance to “Allow similar jobs” in the Dynamic Priorities.
To make a Workstation take a property into account:
- Go to the GANTT Timeline and select the Workstation you want to assign a property to consider. Right-click on it.
- A new window will appear; select Workstation rules.
- On the Workstation level, look for Allow similarity. Check the box.
- Three new options will appear:
Setup time for differing jobs (min): Here, you will add the time it will take to prepare a Workstation so that it is ready to start working on another job with a different property.
Type of similar jobs: In this field, you will select which property the Workstation needs to consider. You can learn how to add a property to a product here.
Similar jobs in succession: Here, you will give a level of importance to the property that will be taken into consideration in the Dynamic Priorities “Similar jobs in succession.”
Finally, click Save.
Press the King button to see the changes applied.
Now, the selected Workstation will consider the property and group jobs according to it and the Dynamic Priorities you have chosen.
