Products often come with attached materials and steps needed to make them. This is especially helpful for companies that manufacture many different types of products using many different materials.
However, sometimes, a Customer may request something a bit different — for example, using a different color, reducing the amount of an ingredient, or adding extra materials.
To make these changes:
- Create an Order and an Order item, then attach materials to it.
- On the right-hand panel, you’ll see a tab called “Materials” next to “Process Steps.” Click on Materials.
- In this example, we’re making chairs. The Customer requested a special coating to protect the chairs from moisture and a different color.
- Slide the Edit Materials switch.
- Now, you can edit the materials needed to make the chair. You can add new materials or change the quantities.
- Finally, click Save to keep your changes or Reset to go back to the default values.
