There are manufacturing companies that work with a Hybrid Philosophy (Just in Time and ASAP)
So, how do I select which jobs go to ASAP and which ones to JIT? In this example, we will teach you how to change one Order into JIT.
By default, in SkyPlanner, all jobs are scheduled using the ASAP philosophy, but let’s change that for one Order.
- Go to Production Scheduling.
- Select the Order you want to adapt to the JIT philosophy. Right-click on it and select Job Rules.
- Once inside, go to the Order Item Level and uncheck the box Default scheduling direction forward.
- Finally, click Save.
- Now, click on King Button to update your Schedule.
If you look at your GANTT Timeline, your job is scheduled close to the delivery date.
