The Running time lock secures your production plan’s upcoming work to prevent last-minute alterations. For example, you can set the Running time lock for the next four hours, during which the scheduled tasks within that timeframe will remain fixed and won’t be changed, moved, or switched.
To use the Running time lock feature:
- On the GANTT Timeline, click on the Gear icon.
- The Global Rules window will appear.
- Here, you will see various options in the Global Rules panel, the first of which is Running time lock (h).
- Select how many hours you want your jobs locked. In this example, we will select 4 hours. On the right side, you will see when the Running time lock ends.
- Then click Save at the bottom right. Finally, click X on the top right to close this panel.
- Now, your jobs will be locked and appear pink on the GANTT Timeline. New orange lines will also appear on the timeline of each Workstation Capacity to help you visualize when the time lock ends.
- If you want to end the time lock, repeat these steps, select 0 hours on the timeframe, and save.
This feature helps your production staff focus on their work and avoid quick directional changes in your production.
