# Setting and Teardown Times

This feature lets you define and manage **Setting** and **Teardown** times for different process steps. Although different kinds of products can use the same workstation, each one has its own process steps and defined times.

When you create an order item or a new product with its process steps, you can adjust **Setting** and **Teardown** times from those panels, but if you want to edit this from an existing Order:

- Go to** Orders** and select **Order Items**.
- A new panel will appear. Look for the Order Item for which you want to adjust a process step's setup and teardown times and click on it. In this example, we will use P41.

- **SkyPlanner** will take you to that Order Item's panel. On the right side, you will see the Process Steps this order item needs to follow to be completed.

- Look for the**Gear Icon**of a process step and click on it.
- A new window will appear; look for **Setting time** and **Teardown **options.

**Setting time** is the duration required for a machine to prepare before starting a job, such as job preparation or changing a tool on the production machine. In **SkyPlanner**, you can adjust this by hour, minutes, or seconds. In this example, we will inform the AI that it takes 10 minutes to set up the workstation.

**Teardown** is the time required after a process step finishes before the next process step for this Order Item can begin, such as paint drying or internal logistics. In this case, we will inform the AI that it takes 20 minutes.

You will also notice that **SkyPlanner** will calculate the most realistic time this process step will take.

- Scroll down and click **Save**.
- Since you made a change, you need to reschedule for production. Click on the top right **Schedule to production**.

The AI now will consider both setting and teardown times when scheduling production. This means that a precise timetable can be given for each job and machine, minimizing production interruptions and maximizing machine utilization.

You can do this for each process step you create.

Remember to click the **King Button** to update your scheduling plan.
