# How to add Maintenance to a Tool

To add maintenance to a tool:

- Go to** Resources** and select **Tools**.
- In the**tool management panel**, click on the tool you want to update.
- Look for **Exceptions** and click on the **+ icon** on the bottom right. 
- On Type, select **Maintenance**. Now, add some extra information, such as the Description (Cleaning, broken, etc.) and the start and end of the maintenance. 
- Finally, click **Save**.

Now, your tool has a scheduled maintenance, which the AI will consider when scheduling and planning your production. If this tool was *on use*, remember to update your production scheduling using the **King Button** on your GANTT Timeline.
